Custom Wiring Harnesses – Built in Australia, Trusted for 40+ Years
From heavy-duty stationary engines to compact 15cm pigtail connectors, Bolec Electronics has been building custom wiring harnesses in Australia for over 40 years. Our clients span industries including agriculture, mining, automotive, marine, and industrial equipment manufacturing. Whether you need a one-off brake loom or ongoing production of complex multi-branch harnesses, we’re here to help.
Why Choose Bolec Electronics for Your Wiring Harness Needs?
- No Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) – we can build just one unit or hundreds
- Tailor-made harnesses – built precisely to your specs and drawings
- Fast turnaround – streamlined quoting and in-house assembly
- Australian-built – using high-quality materials and local expertise
- Experienced design support – work with our engineer to refine your harness
What We Build
There’s no “standard” when it comes to wiring harnesses — every project is different. That’s why we specialize in custom-built looms for:
- Stationary engine control panels (Diesel, LPG, Gas engines)
- Brake loom harnesses for trailers, trucks, and heavy equipment
- Extension looms and sensor harnesses
- Battery harnesses and power distribution looms
- Pigtail assemblies as short as 15cm
- Marine-rated wiring harnesses
- OEM-style looms for production machinery or equipment
Have a Drawing? Let’s Quote It
We don’t just build — we help bring your design to life. If you already have a drawing, even if it’s hand-drawn or based on an old loom, we can quote it quickly. Just email it to:
Include as much detail as possible — dimensions, connector types, wire gauge, environment (e.g. engine bay, trailer), and we’ll take it from there.
No Minimum Order Quantity? Really?
Yes. We get this question a lot. At Bolec, we understand that not every project is mass-produced. Some customers just need one custom loom to repair a rare machine. Others need a prototype before committing to bulk orders. We’re set up to handle one-off jobs — and while a single unit may cost more due to setup and sourcing, you’ll get reliability, accuracy, and Australian support.
Our Process – From Concept to Cable
- Customer sends drawing or photo (or we discuss your specs)
- We quote within 1–2 business days
- Engineer reviews specs and suggests improvements if needed
- Assembly begins in our Melbourne workshop
- Final harness is tested and packed for delivery or pickup
Meet Our Workshop
We’ve built a dedicated space for harness production — including custom crimping tools, cable testers, and our own in-house jigs for repeatable accuracy. Our technician has decades of experience with everything from spade terminals to Deutsch connectors, and knows how to build looms that last in the real world.
Whether it’s exposed to heat, oil, UV, or vibration, we build for the environment your harness lives in.
Who We Work With
- OEMs and small manufacturers needing custom looms for machines
- Vehicle upfitters and trailer builders
- Industrial and marine electricians
- Hobbyists restoring vintage engines
- Resellers and parts distributors
Examples of Recent Projects
- 12-core engine panel harness for LPG generator with temp/pressure senders
- Brake loom for tandem axle trailer with waterproof connectors
- Short pigtail to convert old-style switch plug to new Deutsch 3-pin
- Harness with split sheathing and grommets for enclosure pass-through
Why Australian-Made Still Matters
We know offshore harnesses can seem cheaper — until you wait 8 weeks for delivery, then realize the pinout is wrong or the crimp has failed. At Bolec, our clients come back again and again because we get it right the first time, and we’re only a phone call away if you need help.
We support our work, and we build relationships that last longer than any harness ever will.
Need Just One? Or a Few Hundred?
Whatever the volume, we can handle it. A single prototype? Done. A production run of 50? No problem. We can also build sample batches or alternates to test different lengths, routing styles, or connector options.
