Product overview

Flexible timing control for 12V and 24V systems

TM301 combines selectable timing ranges with a volt-free changeover relay output, allowing the module to be integrated into many different control circuits.

Four timing ranges

Select 1–30 seconds, 2–60 seconds, 1–30 minutes or 2–60 minutes using the module DIP switches.

Changeover relay output

Volt-free common, normally open and normally closed contacts provide flexibility when interfacing with external circuits.

Compact installation

The 58 × 42 × 29 mm enclosure suits installations where panel or equipment space is limited.

Application examples

Typical TM301 uses

The timer can be incorporated into control systems that require a fixed delay or timed output.

Diesel preheat

Control a timed glow-plug or preheat circuit before engine starting.

Alarm before shutdown

Provide a timed warning period before a shutdown action occurs.

Turbo cool-down

Maintain a timed cool-down period for turbocharged engine applications.

Reversing alarm

Operate a reversing alarm for a fixed time when the circuit is triggered.

Automatic-start systems

Add warm-up or cool-down timing to an automatic engine-start sequence.

General timed control

Use the volt-free relay contacts in other suitable delay or fixed-duration control circuits.

Timing functions

TM301 operating modes and turbo-timer example

This comparison diagram shows how the TM301 can perform many timing functions associated with the Redarc TIM05 and TIM06, together with an illustrated delayed turn-off example.

Function suitability shown in the diagram

  • Delayed turn OFF: shown as supported
  • Delayed turn ON: shown as supported
  • Temporary output at turn ON: application-dependent
  • Temporary output at turn OFF: application-dependent

Illustrated turbo-timer sequence

The example shows the ignition remaining ON for six minutes before switch-off, followed by a three-minute delayed turn-off period. The illustrated total engine run time is nine minutes.

Confirm the required sequence Functions marked as application-dependent in the comparison graphic may require specific external wiring or control logic. Send Bolec the required trigger and output sequence before ordering.
